Scholarships Available for Bootcamps and Industry Certification Classes

Earn an industry certification to boost your skills and enhance your resume. Earning an industry certification is usually a costly investment. Thanks to the Florida Department of Education Open Door Grant for Industry, the SCF Coding Academy is able to provide scholarships for bootcamps and specified industry certification courses and free exam vouchers to qualified applicants.

Open Door Coding Academy Certification Scholarships

The Open Door Scholarship is open to all Florida residents who meet the eligibility requirements. Additionally, if you are an SCF student, the Coding Academy has industry certification courses that align with your classes.

Classes are hybrid. Students meet online or in-person at SCF Bradenton
26 West - SCF Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation.

Apply for a Coding Academy Open Door Scholarship

Fill out the application for the Open Door Scholarship below and we will contact you and let you know whether you qualify for a scholarship. If you qualify for a scholarship, you are agreeing to take the industry certification associated with the class for which you register with the Coding Academy.
Note: All Florida residents are eligible to apply for Open Door Grant Funding. You do not have to be a college student to qualify. However, the Open Door Scholarship can only be used to cover tuition for SCF Coding Academy courses that include the certifications listed below.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • A Florida resident, aged 18 or over
  • Considered unemployed, underemployed, or furloughed
  • Complete the Open Door Grant Application
  • Willingness to complete the identified industry certification exam
  • Meet all requirements set by State College of Florida to document compliance with the items above

Underemployed is typically identified as someone who makes less than a livable wage. SCF Coding Academy recommends using MIT’s Living Wage Calculator to determine your status as underemployed.

The Open Door Scholarship will cover up to $6,500 per student, per program paid directly toward Coding Academy class fees.

The Open Door Scholarship does not require that students repay any funds. 

Open Door Grant covers the cost of course or class fees for SCF Coding Academy identified programs.

The SCF Coding Academy has additional funding options for a variety of courses.  Visit the funding page on the website for more options.

Students will be accepted while funds are available.

No, A FAFSA application is not required for each academic year the grant is sought.

Upon completion of the eligible program, you will attain an SCF Coding Academy certificate of completion and any industry certification(s) passed during the course.
